Photo Session Locations

Wolf Ranch

A large nature space near Wolf Ranch area

  • Walking paths with tall trees, luscious greens
  • A small stream of water that you can dip your feet and splash around if you would like
  • Tucked away and usually very private

Sunken Garden/

San Gabriel River

This beautiful garden is located next to the Georgetown community center, tucked away with foliage that changes throughout the seasons. Flowers bloom most parts of the year and add a pop of color to any photo session.

We can also walk (or drive) across the street to the river, and take photos by the water with the tall trees in the backdrop. The trees have color until December through March when they lose their leaves.

Lake Georgetown

Lake Georgetown has recently made a new policy for photography:

I must submit an application ahead of time to get a photography pass for the date of your session and they now only allow photography on weekdays (no weekends or holidays).

This location is perfect if you desire the look of golden fields, sun kissed skin and all around nature scene.

I typically take pictures down in the fields first and then we can walk to the water and take photos on the rocks to end the session.

My suggestions for this location:

  • Pack water for the kids, because walking down to the water can make for some thirsty babes!
  • Wear clothes you can easily move in for those sweet candid moments and sitting by the water
  • Before the session, apply bug spray on everyone's legs/feet, just in case!

Rivery Park

A mix of nature and urban feel with the beautiful trees reflecting on the pond, walking paths, and a wooden fishing dock.

My suggestions for this location:

  • There are multiple playscapes at this location, and kids tend to want to play on them! I recommend having a plan in place (ie: 10 minutes of play after the photoshoot) and talking with your child beforehand if you think they might have a difficult time passing by them while we walk to the dock.
  • Please note that the trees around the water lose all leaves between late December until spring time

Blue Hole

I love the way the light hits the water at Blue Hole, making it the perfect, serene backdrop. The trees are green in the spring and summer, and turn golden in the fall.

My suggestion for this location:

  • The water is shallow, allowing for candid shots splashing in the water at the end of the session when it is still warm outside. Feel free to wear shoes that easily slip off if you want to get your feet wet.

Garey Park

Entrance fee:

Per person: $2 Georgetown Resident/$4 Nonresident

Children ages 3 and under: Free

  • Beautiful green fields, rolling hills behind them, and a pond
  • Yellow flowers in the spring, large fields with green grass all over
  • Tall grassy areas, golden grass parts of the year
  • Wooden fence along the treen lines when you enter
  • There is an entrance fee to shoot here as listed above that must be paid at the entrance gate when you arrive.

Downtown Georgetown

Capture the sweet, small town feel in your photos. Maybe I'm biased, but Georgetown is one of the best little towns in Texas.

My suggestions for this location:

  • Downtown is the busiest of locations so people may be walking by as we take pictures and cars will be around. *I do try to avoid cars as much as possible, but they may be in some photos.
  • This is definitely more of a weekday evening type of place. Don't choose this spot on the weekends or we will be fighting crowds.
  • If you're looking for more of the nature feel, this location does not offer many options. It will be mostly buildings and streets.
